Loughborough Students Athletic Club

Recently Matthew Cotton of Sutton in Ashfield Harriers was invited to run at the Loughborough Students Athletic Club meet. This was an ore inspiring event with many good times in spite of a 3m/sec head wind in the finishing straight for example the 3000 metres was won in 8m 37sec and most the javelins were flying in excess of 60 metres. Matthew ran in the U17's events. His first event being the 100m race and he stormed home third with a time of 12.9sec. His second race was the 200 metres where he was 2nd in a time of 26.8sec that was an achievement in the 3.5 m/s head wind. To top the day he saw Kelly Homes running her training school on the indoor track for selected young Athletes
